Kitchen Assistant

Salary: £13 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

As a Kitchen Assistant at Glenholme Halmer Court, you will play a key role in supporting the Chef and wider kitchen team with all delegated kitchen duties. You will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food preparation while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Keep all areas of the kitchen clean and tidy at all times
Wash and sanitise all kitchen equipment thoroughly
Ensure the safe and economical use of food and kitchen materials
Report any defects, damages, or breakages promptly to the Chef or Assistant Cook
Assist with day-to-day kitchen operations, including preparing vegetables, sandwiches, and light meals
Support with serving meals where required
Clean kitchen and ancillary rooms thoroughly in line with cleaning schedules
Follow infection control, COSHH, and food hygiene procedures at all times
Support colleagues in other areas of the home when required
Maintain a clean, professional, and presentable appearance at all times

What We Are Looking For

Previous kitchen or catering experience is preferred but not essential
A positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and under direction
Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety standards (training can be provided)
Flexibility to work shifts as required by the service
