United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH) are seeking a highly motivated Estates Mechanically Bias Technician who will be based in the Estates department at Grantham Hospital. The post holder is required to play a proactive part within the Estates Technical team to meet Trust objectives in a safe, cost effective, efficient manner in compliance with legislation and good practice.

As an Maintenance Technician you will report directly to the Estates management team and provide effective technical support for Estates & Capital Services. You will be encouraged to be proactive in team working, you will be supported as a team member and you will encourage team working, by providing the varied skills that support the department’s philosophy and flexible working.

You will be expected to have a sound knowledge with the applicable skills in an engineering related discipline. Training and development will be available to ensure your skills become transferable and developed upon for your personal progression and support the Trust needs.

To plan, organise operational maintenance for the estates maintenance team under the guidance of the Estates Officers.
To be appointed as Authorised or Competent Person as required by the organisation.
To support the delivery of the specific Estates Services across a designated site(s) that will contribute and support the Trust’s objectives.
To provide and nurture a patient-centred environment via the provision of Estates Services whilst recognising their contribution to the overall patient experience.
To provide both technical and non-technical advice to both clinical and non-clinical professionals.
To support the delivery of technical policy and procedures and implementation of documentation to the maintenance team and ensure compliance is achieved in various specialist disciplines.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
