Job Introduction

Starting salary for this role is £34,434 (pro rata for part-time colleagues)

This role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. Without exception all new starters begin at the entry point of the band, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organisation. Internal colleagues are also normally appointed at the bottom of the band, unless moving within the same profession and skill level, where the pay band is the same they can be appointed to the existing pay point.

Housing Options Officer

12 month FTC

Want to help to help & support people to resolve their housing problems?

We are looking for enthusiastic Housing Options Officers to join our dynamic & innovative team providing housing advice & support to residents with housing problems. Experience of working with people in an advice or problem-solving capacity is required and we will offer opportunities for training and professional development.

This role will challenge you every day to use your excellent customer service and problem-solving skills within a supportive and motivated team, helping people in often complex and difficult situations, including homelessness.

This role involves working in an office, in the community and at home and requires face to face contact with customers.

If you can:

Communicate effectively, to really understand a customer’s needs and how to help to resolve their housing situation
Have a holistic approach to problem solving customer needs
Manage a caseload effectively within competing demands
Collaborate with residents, other services and your colleagues & help them to find a lasting solution to their problem
Understand homelessness prevention and support, proactively working to prevent housing crisis.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.

You must be able to evidence your right to work and commit to the duration of the contract.
