The Role
As a Here4You Supporter, you'll provide companionship and practical support to older adults living in the community.
Every visit is different. You may spend time chatting over a cup of tea, accompany a client to a medical appointment, help with shopping, or simply support someone to regain the confidence to get out and enjoy life again.
Your role is about much more than completing tasks—it's about creating a safe, enjoyable and confidence-building experience that helps clients remain independent for as long as possible.
Responsibilities
You may be asked to:
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation
- Accompany clients to appointments
- Support clients with shopping and errands
- Visit cafés, parks, garden centres or other favourite places
- Encourage social interaction and community involvement
- Carry out light practical support around the home (where agreed)
- Observe any changes in a client's wellbeing and report concerns appropriately
- Build trusted relationships with clients and their families
What We're Looking For

- Confident drivers with access to their own vehicle
- Happy supporting older adults in the community
Previous care experience isn't essential. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, particularly those with life experience, customer service, hospitality or family caring experience.
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (or willing to obtain one)
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
- Good spoken and written English
Job Details
Location: Poole and surrounding Dorset areas
Hours: Flexible (approximately 2–12 hours per week)
Typical visits: 2–3 hours (with opportunities to combine visits)
Pay: £12.80 per hour
Mileage: 50p per mile while transporting clients
