Customer Service Consultant – Yorkshire Building Society Agency

St Barts Finance – Bournemouth
Location: 99 Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus two Saturday mornings per month
Employment: Permanent and temporary positions available

About the role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused Customer Service Consultant to join our Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) agency in Bournemouth.

Working closely with St Barts Finance and Yorkshire Building Society, you will be responsible for providing an excellent customer experience while helping customers understand the products and services available to them.

This is a customer service and sales-focused role. You will build strong relationships with customers, understand their individual needs and identify appropriate opportunities to introduce them to our range of financial products and services.

You don't need previous financial-services experience, as full training will be provided. However, you should be confident speaking with customers, comfortable discussing financial products and motivated by achieving both excellent service and business results.

What you will do

Welcome and assist customers in our Bournemouth agency.
Build positive, professional and lasting customer relationships.
Understand customers' needs and provide appropriate information and support.
Introduce customers to relevant financial products and services.
Generate and follow up customer referrals and business opportunities.
Work towards agreed performance and referral targets.
Provide accurate and efficient administration.
Ensure all customer information and documentation is handled with care and attention to detail.
Work closely with colleagues and our in-house advisers to provide customers with appropriate financial support.
Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.
Take responsibility for developing your knowledge of our products, services and financial-services environment.

Experience and qualifications

Previous experience in a customer-facing, retail, sales or financial-services environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Financial-services knowledge is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

You should have GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.

All successful candidates will be required to complete the appropriate pre-employment checks.

Working hours

The role is 35 hours per week:

Monday to Friday: 08:30–16:30, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

You will also work two Saturday mornings per month: 08:30–12:00.

Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be provided for Saturday hours worked.

Salary and earning potential

£12.71 per hour

In addition, you may be eligible for:

Uncapped commission for qualifying customer referrals.
Annual performance-based bonus incentives.

Commission and bonus payments are subject to the applicable scheme terms and individual performance.
