About Us
Mission Road Electrical Ltd is a growing commercial electrical contractor based in Bournemouth. We work with schools, facilities managers, principal contractors, and commercial clients across Dorset, Hampshire, and beyond, delivering everything from large-scale lighting upgrades and EV charger installations to reactive call-outs and compliance testing.
We're a close-knit team with big ambitions, and we're looking for the right person to help us grow.
The Role
This is a newly created role supporting our business development activity. You'll be the engine behind our outreach — managing our target lists, sending letters, following up by phone, and making sure no opportunity falls through the cracks.
This isn't a hard-sell role. It's about building relationships, staying organised, and being the kind of person who picks up the phone without being told twice.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Managing and building our prospect database (principal contractors, facilities managers, estate managers)
- Sending outreach letters and follow-up emails on behalf of the director
- Making follow-up phone calls to warm prospects
- Chasing outstanding quotes and keeping the pipeline updated
- Booking meetings and site visits for the director
- Keeping records up to date so nothing gets missed
What We're Looking For
You don't need a background in sales. What matters more is that you're organised, confident on the phone, and genuinely enjoy speaking to people.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Are comfortable picking up the phone and having a confident, professional conversation
- Have strong organisational skills and a good eye for detail
- Can work independently and manage your own time
- Are looking for a role you can grow into — this position has a clear path to a full Business Development Manager role as the company scales
- Have some admin or office experience (any industry considered)
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in construction, electrical, or a related trade industry
- Previous experience in a sales support or business development role
