Technical Delivery Manager
Full time, hybrid between the South Coast of England and home, UK based with genuine flexibility.
About Rascal Ventures
Rascal Ventures is a B Corp technology studio on a mission to put the joy and humanity back into building technology. We are a small, senior team founded in 2021 and scaling with intent. We partner with forward thinking organisations to drive change through technology, people and culture, and we hold a simple belief: Genuine change beats performative adoption, and people and process come before technology. Its our people first, AI approach.
The role
Rascal delivers a lot for a studio of our size: a global brand platform rolling out across thirty markets, grant and case management systems for major charities, mobile apps in sport and social care, and AI adoption audits for leadership teams. Today, delivery is run by the founders alongside everything else they do, and that is the gap you will fill.
Your whole job is making delivery run. Every project owned, every ticket written to standard and matched to the contracted scope, every client knowing exactly where things stand, and quality never slipping because nobody was watching. You will run studio level delivery across a small senior team of employees and contractors spread across the UK and Europe, and you will be the person who makes it all simply get done.
What you will own
- The delivery book: every live project has a plan, an owner, a ticket set that matches the contracted scope, and a heartbeat you can hear from across the studio.
- Sprint planning and the monthly cycle, so everyone starts the month with the right tickets, estimated and understood, without exception.
- Ticket and estimation standards, applying our definition of ready, definition of done, scope checks and quality gates consistently in ClickUp.
- The client communication rhythm: weekly status reports, expectation management, change control and early escalation, so no client is ever surprised by us.
- Delivery risk and unblocking: you see problems early, name them plainly, clear them yourself where you can, and pull in a founder only when it truly needs one.
- Commercial awareness: time tracked against estimate and budget burn against margin, flagged before it hurts rather than explained after it has.
- Resource allocation across a fixed scope contractor model, where contractors own ticket delivery regardless of hours spent.
What you bring
You must have:
- A solid background in technical project management or technical delivery, gained in software, digital or data environments.
- An APM qualification (PMQ or equivalent) or a recognised Scrum or Agile certification, paired with the judgement to know that frameworks serve the outcome and not the other way round.
- Experience running multiple concurrent projects across a small team, studio or agency style, where you owned the whole delivery picture rather than one workstream.
- Enough technical fluency to read a ticket, challenge an estimate and hold your own in a room full of engineers.
- Time in both startups and corporates, so you bring urgency without chaos and rigour without theatre.
- A self-starting operating style: you work through blockers, unblock yourself, and deliver with very little guidance.
It helps if you have:
- Deep experience in ClickUp or a similar platform used as a genuine operating hub rather than a task list.
- Delivery exposure to CMS platforms, mobile apps, Salesforce ecosystems or AI projects.
- Experience running distributed teams and managing contractors well.
- Time in mission driven or B Corp environments where impact sits alongside margin.
How you work
- You are calm under load and allergic to drift: things move because you are there.
- You are direct, organised and kind, and people trust your version of the truth about where a project really is.
- You are entrepreneurial and flexible, comfortable that no two weeks in a growing studio look the same.
- You want to help a small business grow into its next stage and to share in the journey and the rewards of getting it there.
Where this goes
As Rascal scales, this role grows into Head of Delivery. You will shape the delivery function you will one day lead, with the coaching and backing to get there.
Impact
We are B Corp aligned, so every engagement carries a defined social impact outcome reported with the same rigour as its financial result. You will help protect that standard by making sure impact commitments are delivered, not just promised.
