Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking Workshop Mechanic / Plant Fitter to join our team in Wimborne. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires a proactive approach, technical knowledge, and the ability to work safely within a busy workshop environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in equipment maintenance.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
Repair and troubleshoot mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
Diagnostic/fault finding, repairs and servicing of equipment.
Perform assembly and disassembly of machinery, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs carried out.
Support safety protocols by identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.

Experience

Proven experience in mechanical repair, workshop engineer or plant fitter or similar role.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Welding and soldering experience would be an advantage but not essential.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
