We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Kitchen assistant/cook This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety, and delivering excellent service to our customers. Prior experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Support meal preparation activities, including chopping, mixing, and plating
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and stock levels are maintained
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a hygienic environment
- Assist serving staff during busy periods, ensuring prompt and courteous customer service
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions accurately
- Flexibility to adapt to varying shifts and responsibilities within the kitchen environment
