Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in accounting and experience using Xero. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting our accountant with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. The position offers flexible working hours, making it suitable for those seeking part-time employment, with on average 8 hours per week. A freelance bookkeeper/finance would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software, Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly recorded
Assist with payroll processing and expense reporting
Prepare financial reports and summaries as required by management
Support year-end audit preparations by organising relevant documentation
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies
Collaborate with external accountants or auditors during financial reviews

Skills

Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
Proficiency in managing accounts payable and receivable processes
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Financially astute and able to assist the business in controlling expenditure.

Pay: Up to £16.00 per hour
