Receptionist (37.5hrs p/w)

Hours:

Monday 8.30 - 6.00

Tuesday 8.00 - 6.00

Wednesday OFF

Thursday 8.00 - 6.00

Friday 8.00 - 6.00

Additional: One late evening per week on a rota basis with the team to support holiday cover.
Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour (overtime paid at time and a half)
Location: Papworth Surgery, Chequers Lane, Papworth Everard, CB23 3QQ

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and friendly Receptionist to join our welcoming and flexible surgery team. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide a high standard of service to our patients.

You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing support with appointments, enquiries, and general administration. Flexibility is key, as you will also be required to provide holiday and sickness cover within the reception team — sometimes at short notice.

Key Responsibilities

Greeting and assisting patients in a professional and compassionate manner
Managing phone calls and appointment bookings
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
Supporting the clinical and administrative teams as needed
Providing cover for colleagues during absences

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

A team player with a positive and flexible attitude
Reliable and able to adapt to changing priorities
Possessing strong communication and organisational skills
Able to handle confidential information appropriately
Familiar with SystmOne (preferred but not essential – full training provided)

Additional Information

Regular working hours
One late night per week (on a rota basis)
Overtime is available and paid at time and a half
