Job title: Landfill Operative (Labourer)

Job description: Installation of HDPE pipework and pneumatic pumps for gas and leachate extraction.

This job roll is very varied, the successful applicant would need to be hands-on, have a positive work attitude, to be reliable, forward thinking and able to find solutions to any issues that may arise when on site.
Experience: No Experience is required as all onsite training will be provided, You will be working alongside an experienced technician on a daily basis.
Hours: This is a full time position, Monday- Friday - Start and finish times may vary- Occasional weekend work may be available.
Location: Based on Landfill Site- Location varies- Involves travelling to and from various sites.
Candidate must live within the Milton Keynes area.
Description of main works
- The installation of methane gas collection systems
- The installation of leachate Extraction systems
- Butt fusion
- Electro fusion
- Air / Electric leachate pumps – pulling and servicing
- Well flushing
- Rehydration of Bentonite seal
- Roding and dipping of wells.
- Monitoring of Gas Wells.
- The Lowering and raising of both HDPE and Steel wells
- Pulling of pumps
- Camera surveying of chambers
- General repair and maintenance
Academic or trade qualifications
- Full Current driving licence is required
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent - not essential as can be acquired
- Machinery tickets ( i.e. Forward tipping dumper, Excavator , CAT scan ) would be an advantage but not essential
- To be health and safety aware
This position would be better suited for someone with outdoor experience working in all weathers.
