We are an IT solution provider seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior IT Support Technician to join our team.
We specialise in delivering high-quality IT support to schools and businesses across Surrey and Greater London, and pride ourselves on a proactive, relationship-led approach.
We are recruiting for a key role responsible for delivering IT support to a prestigious independent school within the Woking area.
The successful candidate must be experienced in IT support at 2nd and 3rd Line level and will be required to provide support for a wide range of technologies used within the school, including cloud services, networking, hardware and software.
The Role:
This is a primarily site-based role, working closely with school staff to support, maintain and develop their IT systems.
· Based onsite at the school 5 days per week during term time
· Supporting two sites within close proximity (approx. 0.3 miles apart)
· Working alongside our Helpdesk and IT Manager
· Providing hands-on, day-to-day technical support and proactive maintenance
· Delivering excellent customer service to teaching and support staff
Outside of term time, the role includes:
· A mix of onsite project work, remote working (working from home), and support across other client sites
· Participation in holiday upgrade, maintenance and project activities
A typical day will include:
· Responding to support tickets
· Maintaining and improving IT infrastructure
· Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
· Supporting classroom technology, staff and pupil users
· Assisting the IT Manager with projects, upgrades, and strategic improvements
Skills:
· The successful candidate must have:
· Have strong 2nd/3rd line IT support experience
· Be confident working independently onsite as the lead technician
· Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting, organisation, and problem-solving skills
· Have strong communication and customer-facing skills, particularly in an education environment
Technical Expertise (desirable across most areas)
· Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID)
· Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
· Windows Server environments (2019 +) and Virtualisation (Hyper-V)
· End-user devices (Windows laptops, desktops, and iOS devices)
· MDM solutions (e.g. Intune)
· AV and security platforms
· Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewalls, switching)
· Web filtering solutions and education solution providers such as LGfL
· Experience working with and configuring VOIP telephone systems
· Education MIS systems (SIMS)
Working Requirements
· Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
· Willingness to work and travel between school sites (0.3 miles apart) and occasionally to other client locations
· Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively
· Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
· Role subject to Enhanced DBS check
· Experience working in schools or the education sector is highly desirable
