Full job description

We need Activity Leaders for Active Games, and/or Drop in sessions for children & young people with additional needs and their parent/carers

Teen club sessions take place bi-monthly on a Wednesday in Wokingham and are aimed at young people 11-18yrs on a ratio of 1 adult to 8 children

Drop in sessions take place monthly on a Wednesday in Earley and are an informal drop in with an organised craft activity for all ages of children, with parent/carers present and responsible for their children at all times.

Sessions are after school 1.5/2hrs per session, term-time only

Key Responsibilities:

As part of a team:

Attend sessions as a positive and engaging role model to provide a fun and active session that is inclusive for all attending
Be responsible for providing first-aid as required (you will be given training)
To create accurate & timely records of first-aid, behaviour or safeguarding concerns
To work alongside children & young people with additional needs and their families to ensure the sessions are safe but fun; that reasonable adjustments are made and that behaviour is appropriate
To create and help to run a specific activity or craft for each session
Regularly review the Risk Assessment & Fire Plan with the Project Manager to ensure it remains up to date and accurate in respect of every attendee

Individually:

Work with the Project Manager to set up these sessions (including sourcing equipment, deciding on the venue/day and time and helping to share/advertise the session).
Leading activities, communicating with parents & creating session content
Keep up to date and secure records of each child/young person as applicable
Ensure sessions run to strict safeguarding and health & safety requirements
Responsible for the safeguarding of our users, staff & volunteers and prompt reporting of any concerns

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
