This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team which implements the requirements of the Council’s enforcement and emergency response approaches.
Wardens act as ambassadors for the Council, delivering a high visible presence to promote a positive image of Calderdale. Working with Police, Fire and other partner organisations the team work in Calderdale’s Town Centres, residential communities as well as parks and open spaces, proactively assisting in the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour and promotion of community safety. The wardens, through prevention, engagement, education and enforcement action, are working to make Calderdale a safer place to live and visit. We are dedicated to delivering on the council vision 2034.
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team who are passionate about serving the local community through a flexible approach and possess a strong team mentality. They will be committed to decreasing the fear of crime, have demonstrable communication and organisational skills, and be familiar with working in a customer focused role. In return, Calderdale will invest in your full ongoing training and accreditation to fulfil your duties. GCSE English and Maths grade 4/C, or equivalent is essential, and a full UK Driving licence is desirable.
This role will require an Enhanced DBS with both Adult and Children’s Barred List Checks and police vetting will be carried out at level 2.
This role will entail working shifts which will include nights, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
