Safespaces, based in Todmorden, manufactures, delivers and installs specialist equipment across the UK. We are a growing company with a friendly, committed team. We are recruiting a new staff member to drive / deliver, assemble and install specialist equipment in homes, schools, hospitals, exhibition sites etc. around the UK. Full training will be provided. The job involves regular overnight stays of at least one per week. There will also be some work in the factory, warehouse and cleaning department. An advanced DBS check will be required.
Expenses are paid for travel away from home including meal and overnight stay allowance.
Key responsibilities:
To attend work regularly in line with planned and scheduled timetables and to represent the Safespaces business in a professional manner.
To undertake delivery, assembly and fitting of specialist equipment (metal frames /PVC fabric), in homes, schools, hospitals, exhibition sites etc. around the UK.
To work in the factory / warehouse / cleaning department when not out on deliveries, assembling & checking products & providing any necessary shop floor or warehouse assistance
To prepare products for packing and despatch. To load and unload vehicles in preparation for exhibitions, demonstrations, deliveries and installations, ensuring efficient use of space and time.
To collect products for cleaning & renovation, following strict hygiene guidelines
To set up stands for exhibitions & provide clients with information about products.
To outline use of equipment to customers and professionals, including use & care guidance.
To drive delivery vehicles (mainly transit vans) to destinations across the UK, taking account of health and safety requirements.
To undertake appropriate maintenance checks of vehicles including stocking any consumable supplies such as, bulbs, first aid kit etc.
To undertake repairs to damaged units in customers homes/schools etc. and deal with moves of equipment.
Undertake relevant paperwork, including writing up clear delivery and fitting notes and submit completed timesheets and expenses on time.
Understand and continue to learn about the company, it’s products and ethos and the arenas we work in.
Participate in work planning and team meetings
To be aware of and comply with Health and safety as it relates to this role.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
A full clean driving license, excellent practical driving skills & road safety awareness.
Reliable, punctual and flexible and smart presentable appearance
Capable of undertaking physically demanding work including transportation and lifting of equipment.
Good spoken and written communication skills and a respectful manner in dealing with clients, colleagues, professionals etc.
Experience of using power and hand tools, combined with practical problem solving skills.
The ability to plan and work in an organised manner
Good teamwork skills
Good literacy and numeracy
Ability to complete record sheets and paperwork on time
The ability to use a tablet or laptop and mobile phone, or willingness to learn how to use them for recording basic information
Ability to work on own initiative and under supervision
Be willing to undertake all relevant training for this role
