Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bakery Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations and support our planned business growth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
This role which reports directly to our Technical Operations Manager offers an exciting opportunity to lead our bakery team, and drive operational excellence through innovative process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of bakery production, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Supervise production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to optimise team productivity by fostering a positive culture where the team feel supported and motivated to deliver their best.
- Taking a hands on approach in Implementing process improvements and continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Oversee quality control procedures to ensure products meet company specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain mechanical knowledge of bakery equipment to facilitate troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and develop corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bakery or food manufacturing management roles.
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS and HACCP food safety systems.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to bakery equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in quality control procedures within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with assembly processes specific to bakery production is desirable.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment.

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
