Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to oversee the daily operations of our newly opened Local Village pub. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a vibrant team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. Previous restaurant, hotel, or culinary experience is highly desirable, alongside supervising experience and team management skills. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with health regulations.

Duties

Oversee daily operations, including staff scheduling, stock management, and customer service standards
Supervise and motivate bar staff to deliver excellent service in line with company policies
Manage food preparation and ensure quality standards are met for all beverages and accompanying food items
Coordinate with kitchen staff on food production, ensuring timely delivery of orders
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
Train new staff on service procedures, safety protocols, and product knowledge
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to enhance guest satisfaction
Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations within the establishment
Organise promotional events or special offers to increase patronage

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a hospitality environment, preferably within bars, restaurants or hotels
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices
Experience in serving beverages and understanding of mixology is advantageous
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations governing hospitality venues
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
Previous experience in restaurant or hotel settings is desirable; barista experience is a plus
Strong communication skills with an approachable manner suitable for team management and guest interaction
