Full job description

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the day to day operation of the Clerks' Room, including managing enquiries, answering telephone calls and ensuring work is prioritised efficiently.
Proactively managing Counsel's diaries by chasing papers and ensuring all documentation is received in advance of hearings, conferences and other commitments.
Accurately recording instructions, briefs and case information within the LEX case management system.
Managing the exchange and filing of Skeleton Arguments, ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Coordinating hearing dates and liaising with solicitors, defendants and court staff to arrange listings where required.
Assisting with Chambers' business development by maintaining the website, updating members' profiles and publishing social media content.
Providing direct support to the Head Clerk, Senior Management Team and members of Chambers, ensuring a consistently high standard of client service.

Key Skills and Experience

Previous experience within a Barristers’ Chambers or similar professional services environment is desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively.
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise professionally with solicitors, Counsel, court staff and clients.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Good IT skills, including experience of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently, using initiative and sound judgement.
A flexible approach and willingness to support colleagues across the clerking team.
