About us:
Exue International is a professional and well-established educational company based in the heart of Cambridge, a city well known for its rich academic heritage. For many years we have specialised in running tailor-made English language learning courses and exam preparation programmes based in local colleges, and providing cultural adventures around the UK for international students of all ages.
Our primary remit is one of providing tailored, immersive language learning and cultural exchange programmes, set against a backdrop of one of the world’s most prestigious and academic communities. We’re actively looking for teachers, academics and creative individuals who can promote learning and the confidence to explore this vivid and exciting country. We care about instilling fond memories and the students’ feelings of being more empowered to achieve their own goals.
Job Description:
If you’re an enthusiastic and qualified teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging, fun, and inclusive online English learning programmes, while also introducing various aspects of UK culture, then we’d love to hear from you!
We’re currently seeking an experienced and energetic teacher with a strong background in academic English (EAP/ESP) and exam preparation (e.g. IELTS) to provide tailored and effective solutions that help our students achieve their language goals.
Ideally, we’d like to offer classes to some of our students in both the mornings and afternoons. There may also be opportunities for evening sessions, which can be discussed with the successful applicant if the need arises. All face-to-face classes take place at a central Cambridge location. While some teaching resources are available, the teacher should feel confident creating materials that are relevant to students’ needs when necessary.
Responsibilities:
As one of our English teachers, you'll be:
- Proficient and comfortable in creating high quality teaching material tailored to the programme objectives and templates we have available for you to use.
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive and interactive learning environment for international students.
- Assessing and tracking students' progress as per CEFR guidelines - whether it is a general English course or more examination specific, providing constructive feedback. Training can be given on CEFR guidelines if you’re not familiar with them or just need a refresher!
- Collaborating with fellow educators and senior staff to develop effective curriculum targets.
- Inspiring and motivating students to participate actively. For example, learning to ask when they are unsure of something.
Qualifications and experience we’d like you to have:
- EITHER/AND a Teaching qualification such as CELTA, DELTA, TESOL or a bachelor’s degree in English, education or a related field.
- Experience with teaching mono-lingual international students - we'll always be there to offer support, advice, material and training whenever it is needed.
- Experience of producing lesson plans which include both primary and secondary objectives would also be advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience of guiding students successfully to achieve their specific language goals.
- You must be either in Cambridge or able to travel to Cambridge on a daily basis.
In addition this, we hope you can show:
- Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching - creating an environment where our learners feel safe and comfortable to develop their language skills.
- Enthusiasm for working with diverse groups of young students.
- Proficiency in software packages such as Microsoft 365 for the purpose of creating content specific to the course’s objectives.
Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience and qualifications.
- Experience working in a dynamic, international educational environment.
- The opportunity, paid by the company, to travel to China at a later date to represent this school. Please ask if you'd like to know more about this fantastic opportunity!
- Professional development and networking opportunities with regular mentoring and career progression.
