Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our friendly healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support to patients , ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help create a positive environment where individuals feel cared for and respected. Working with our GP and Nursing team you will play a crucial part in delivering a high standard of patient care helping us meet our patients needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing your skills in healthcare.

Responsibilities

Collection of laboratory specimens including venepuncture.
Recording ECGs.
Performing hearing tests.
Recording routine blood pressure measurements (diabetic Checks, Hypertension checks).
Routine urinalysis.
Recording peak flow measurements.
Co-ordinate INR clinic.
Performing new patient registration medicals (NHS Health Checks)
Prep & putting blood tests on computer as requested by GP in advance of a clinic.
Clean storage areas and replenish stock in consulting rooms.
Order consumables.
Use of the computer for appropriate and accurate data entry.
Participation in appropriate educational updates and various meetings as and when arranged.
Contribute a share of cover to facilitate the team taking annual leave and/or in the event of other unplanned absences.
Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, families, and team members to foster trust and understanding
Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems designed for healthcare documentation
Contribute to a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a GP Surgery is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with patients and team members
Basic IT skills are required for maintaining electronic care records accurately
