Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Resource Cost Manager to oversee and optimise the cost management processes within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in controlling costs, analysing financial data, and supporting strategic decision-making to ensure the company's commercial efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in cost control and financial analysis to contribute to our ongoing success.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor cost control strategies across various projects and departments.
Analyse financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise resource utilisation.
Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to establish budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
Prepare detailed reports on cost performance, variances, and forecasts for senior management review.
Maintain accurate records of resource expenditure and ensure compliance with organisational policies.
Support the development of financial models to evaluate project viability and profitability.
Provide guidance on cost-related issues during project planning, execution, and review phases.
Continuously review industry best practices related to cost management and incorporate improvements into organisational processes.

Requirements

Proven experience in cost control, financial analysis, or related roles within the Rail sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in relevant software applications such as Excel, ERP systems, or specialised cost management tools such as Oracle.
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
A proactive approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, or business management are desirable but not essential. This role is integral to maintaining our organisation’s financial health through effective resource management and cost optimisation strategies.
