Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. The Motor Mechanic will ensure all repairs meet safety standards and customer expectations, contributing to the smooth operation of our fleet and machinery.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults or issues.
Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components.
Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose problems accurately.
Perform assembly and disassembly of parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as necessary.
Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements.
Assist with equipment repair and welding tasks to restore functionality.
Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients.
Lift heavy components safely during repairs or replacements as required.

Experience

Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a similar role within automotive.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, schematics, and assembly processes.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various vehicle types or machinery is desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
