Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our culinary team at our establishment in Brecon, LD3 0LE. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional with a strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and hospitality. The ideal candidate will possess supervisory experience and a comprehensive understanding of food safety standards, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of quality, and inspiring your team to excel.

Duties

Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing clear direction and supervision to ensure efficient operations
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet established standards
Develop and innovate menu offerings in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability
Train and mentor junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment centred on professional development
Monitor food preparation techniques and cooking procedures to uphold high standards of excellence
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction
Implement health & safety policies within the kitchen environment

Requirements

Proven supervisory experience within a busy culinary environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
Extensive experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Previous experience working in restaurant or hospitality environments is highly desirable
Demonstrated expertise in culinary arts with a passion for creating innovative dishes
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
Flexibility to work full-time hours including weekends as required by operational needs
