Job Overview
The Swan at Hay, a renowned boutique hotel and dining destination in the heart of Hay-on-Wye, is seeking a passionate and talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

As part of the Interesting Hotels group, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional food, warm hospitality, and memorable guest experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious chef who is committed to quality, enjoys working with fresh ingredients, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help lead a dedicated kitchen brigade, producing high-quality dishes for over 80 covers per day. You'll play a key role in maintaining standards, supporting the team, and contributing to the continued success of our food offering.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step
Passion for creating high-quality, seasonal dishes
Strong organisational and communication skills
A positive, team-focused attitude
Commitment to maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
Ability to work efficiently in a busy service environment

What We Offer

Competitive salary of £35,000–£40,000 per year
Five-day working week, including weekends
Staff meals provided while on duty
