Full job description

Summary:

We are seeking a Multi-skilled Engineer to join our dynamic team in Aylesham, South East CT3. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our engineering systems. This is a hands-on role requiring both electrical and mechanical expertise, with a strong focus on reliability, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities:

- Carry out planned preventive maintenance to ensure maximum machine uptime
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns and minimise production disruption
- Diagnose faults using both electrical and mechanical root cause analysis techniques
- Support installation and maintenance of electrical systems (up to 400V), PLCs, and control circuits
- Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment optimisation projects
- Assist in developing risk assessments, SOPs, and maintenance schedules
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors
- Ensure all safety risks and breakdowns are addressed promptly

What we're looking for:

- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering with strong electrical and mechanical experience
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of PLCs and variable speed drives
- Proven ability to carry out root cause analysis and technical problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive improvements
