Graduate Mechanical, Electrical and ICA Engineer
Role Overview
As a Mechanical, Electrical and ICA Graduate Engineer, you will assist in delivering mechanical & electrical design and engineering support for a variety of MEICA-related water & water treatment projects. You will gain exposure of creating design packages, conducting site surveys, working with the construction team on optimising installation techniques, and development of project documentation, all of which activities will help to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality project designs and outcomes.
During your role you will:
- Help to deliver projects that improve lives, protect ecosystems, and respond to the climate emergency
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, forward-thinking solutions for complex challenges
- Gain exposure of new technologies and engineering practices, supported by mentoring and training
Duties and Responsibilities
The engineering services we offer to our clients requires us to be able to deliver in an agile environment and the following are examples of the type of duties and responsibilities we are looking for from our candidates, working as part of our dynamic multidisciplinary water/wastewater design team.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment across teams Worldwide, including the UK, to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Support the production of MECIA design deliverables, including: Calculations, Drawings, Datasheets, Specifications, Reports, Health & Safety documentation, all inline with the relevant design standards and codes
Aid in specifying and ordering MECIA materials and equipment
Practice and contribute to quality and safe design of technical solutions for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
Inputting to proposals for standardised solutions where justifiable by cost and/or technical efficiency.
Contributing to or participating in internal working groups and project teams.
Skills and Experience:

Qualifications/Skills
Essential:
Educated to degree level within Mechanical / Electrical / ICA engineering or equivalent
Strong interest in MEICA engineering within the Water Industry
Willing to learn, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Proactively takes initiative to complete tasks efficiently and independently
Able to change and adapt to new technology / circumstances and strong problem-solving abilities
Able to work accurately, prioritise work and manage time effectively
Motivated, passionate, and driven to achieve goals and objectives
Prepared to travel and work to various sites within the region
The ability for lateral thinking and prepared to challenge ‘conventional’ wisdom
Desirable:
Desire to achieve incorporated / Chartered status
Have an understanding of the CDM regulations and the requirements this places on designers
Understand how water and wastewater treatment processes and pumping systems operate and be able to assess existing site infrastructure to develop and deliver the MEICA design
Hands on experience of design/design-&-build/project and bid delivery in the water and/or wastewater engineering sector in the UK
Full clean driving licence
