The Learning Club is a vibrant and dynamic children's out-of-school learning activity club that aims to create a supportive and engaging environment for children to develop their skills and knowledge. We believe that learning should be enjoyable and empowering, and we strive to instil a sense of confidence and curiosity in every child who attends our club.

- Hours: 2 hours per week during term time
- Hourly rate: £24.62 per hour
- Age group: 7-11 years old
Tutors at The Learning Club deliver activities prepared by the TLC Coordinator to groups of around 15 children at evening sessions on a weekly basis, currently taking place on Tuesdays. Tutors are supported in delivery by volunteer mentors from various backgrounds who work in small groups with children on whichever activity is being delivered. We aim to have an adult to child ratio of 1:3 though this can differ from week to week depending on volunteer availability.
Tutors will initially deliver content provided to them by the TLC Coordinator, but there will be the opportunity to contribute to the curriculum as the role develops.
Successful candidates will deliver one session 2 hour session per week during term time but there may be opportunities to run further sessions as we expand our provision, as well as ad hoc cover of other sessions and involvement in our holiday activities.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive learning activities for children attending The Learning Club.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages children to explore and develop their skills and interests.
- Be responsible for Child Safeguarding within the session following charity policies and procedures.
- Foster a love for learning by incorporating fun and creative teaching methods.
- Collaborate with other tutors and club staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching experience for all participants.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback and recommendations to parents and club management.
- Direct volunteers attending the session in their role.
Requirements:
- Possess a teaching qualification or equivalent relevant experience in education.
- Passionate about working with children and dedicated to their learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children of different ages, abilities and cultures.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
