About The Role ...
We're looking for an Estimator to join our South West team based in Ilton.
The role involves surveying works, preparing quotations and supporting customers across reactive maintenance, compliance, refurbishment and construction projects. You'll work closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and operational teams to ensure quotations are accurate, commercially sound and submitted within agreed timescales.
This is a varied role within a busy property services business and will suit someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable working independently.

Based from our Ilton office near Taunton, supporting customers across the South West.
As the wider estimating leadership team is based in Fareham, this role requires someone who is comfortable managing their own workload, prioritising their diary and working with minimal supervision whilst maintaining strong communication with the wider business.
Key Responsibilities …
- Prepare and submit quotations, estimates and tender submissions across a range of building, maintenance and refurbishment works.
- Attend site surveys and customer meetings to understand requirements and develop scopes of work.
- Produce accurate costings and obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Use CAFM systems and customer portals to manage and submit quotations within agreed timescales.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and operational teams.
- Provide clear communication and updates throughout the quotation process.
- Support operational teams with commercial information, variations and invoicing requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, surveys and job information.
- Follow company procedures, systems and standard operating processes.
- Support apprentices and developing team members where appropriate.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the needs of the business.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience …
- Previous estimating and surveying experience within construction, property maintenance, facilities management or a related sector.
- Good understanding of building trades, construction methods and maintenance works.
- Experience pricing building fabric works, including decorating, roofing, joinery, windows and doors, brickwork and general building maintenance would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of BCIS, SPONS or similar pricing methodologies would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and prioritise competing demands.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience using CAFM systems and customer portals would be advantageous.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership and support the wider team.
