Role Overview
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day procurement and expediting of electronic components, PCB materials, consumables, and subcontract services required to support the efficient operation of Trizo Limited’s contract electronics manufacturing activities.
This role is critical in ensuring that customer deliveries are achieved through proactive material management, strong supplier relationships, strategic purchasing decisions, and accurate ERP/MRP system control. The Purchasing Specialist will work closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, Stores, Quality, and Customer Account Management teams to ensure material availability aligns with production demand and customer expectations.
Operating within a fast-paced AS9100 and ISO-driven manufacturing environment, the Purchasing Specialist must demonstrate excellent commercial awareness, urgency, organisation, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing
- Raise and manage purchase orders for electronic components, PCB fabrication, consumables, and subcontract services
- Source components in accordance with approved AVL (Approved Vendor List) requirements
- Ensure purchasing activity supports production schedules and customer delivery commitments
- Monitor material shortages and proactively escalate supply risks
- Maintain accurate supplier pricing, lead times, and MOQ data within the ERP/MRP system
- Manage purchasing in line with customer-approved manufacturers and traceability requirements
- Support cost reduction initiatives and commercial negotiations where appropriate
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with AS9100 and internal quality procedures
Supply Chain & Expediting
- Expedite supplier deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time
- Monitor open order reports daily and drive supplier accountability
- Liaise directly with suppliers regarding shortages, delays, allocations, and obsolescence
- Identify alternative sourcing solutions during supply chain disruption
- Work closely with Planning and Production teams to prioritise urgent requirements
- Support management of customer-owned and consignment inventory where applicable
Component & Electronics Knowledge
- Understand common electronic component types and package formats including:
- ICs
- Passive components
- Connectors
- PCB materials
- Electromechanical parts
- Obsolescence and lifecycle management
- Understand date code control, traceability, and counterfeit risk mitigation
- Support sourcing of difficult and obsolete components through approved channels
- Work with Engineering and Quality regarding approved alternatives and technical queries
ERP / MRP System Management
- Maintain accurate purchasing data within the company ERP/MRP system
- Ensure delivery dates, acknowledgements, pricing, and supplier information remain current
- Support ongoing ERP system development and process improvements
- Assist with reporting, forecasting, and material planning accuracy
Supplier Management
- Build professional working relationships with suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance including:
- On-time delivery
- Quality performance
- Responsiveness
- Commercial competitiveness
- Escalate poor supplier performance where necessary
- Support supplier review meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

- Previous purchasing or procurement experience within manufacturing
- Experience within electronics, engineering, or technical manufacturing environments

- Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills

Pay: £36,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
