Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional service. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for hospitality. This is a paid position that offers an exciting opportunity to manage a vibrant kitchen environment and contribute to our establishment’s success.

Duties

Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Manage and coordinate the culinary team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
Oversee food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes while maintaining consistency
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability
Train staff on food production techniques, hygiene standards, and service procedures
Ensure timely service during peak hours, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction
Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
Oversee serving staff during service periods to ensure seamless customer experience

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary or hospitality setting
Extensive food production and culinary expertise with a strong background in food preparation and cooking
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality environments with a focus on quality service
Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
Passion for innovation in cuisine and delivering exceptional dining experiences
