Job Summary

Abu Bakr Boys School is an independent Islamic secondary school dedicated to providing an outstanding education that combines academic excellence with strong Islamic values. We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Citizenship, Religious Education (RE) & History Teacher to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys inspiring students to think critically, understand the past, appreciate different beliefs and cultures, and become active, responsible citizens.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Citizenship, Religious Education, and History.
Create a positive, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment.
Encourage discussion, debate, and independent thinking while promoting respect for others.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations where applicable.
Provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.
Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Uphold the Islamic ethos and values of the school.

Skills

Please note: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE is not required for this role. We value relevant experience, subject expertise, and the ability to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons.

Strong subject knowledge across Citizenship, RE, and History.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience (school, college, tuition centre, or similar).
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
The ability to inspire curiosity, discussion, and a love of learning.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
A willingness to contribute positively to the wider school community.
