Process Operator for a Steel processing and fabrication facility in Scunthorpe
SC4 are looking for additional team members in line with the companies continued growth. The role will involve predominantly working on our four CNC operated machines: two saw/drill lines, a plate processing machine, as well as our new state of the art plasma coping robot. Good basic IT knowledge is needed, ability to use measuring equipment and quality check processed parts, as well as being able to think outside the box and work to deadlines. Steel experience / knowledge of steel sections advantageous but not essential., on going training will be given. The role will also require assisting with operating a straightening press, cambering press and splitting machine, as well as using over-head cranes and forklifts as and when required to support materials in/out
About You:
You will have good computer and problem solving skills, a positive willingness to learn & a 'can-do' attitude. Knowledge and experience within the steel industry is preferred, but not essential as full training is given and ongoing. This position requires an enthusiastic individual with an eye for detail who is able to work towards daily machine targets and consistently maintain high quality standards. The successful candidate will be physically fit and comfortable working in a fast paced heavy industry environment with an emphasis on health & safety.
The individual must have a flexible and dynamic approach to working hours, willing and able to work on a 06:00-14:00 and/or 14:00-22:00 shift.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential;-
· Ability to accurately use measuring equipment (metric) and strong numerical skills
· Strong written and spoken English
· Flexibility to adapt to changes in schedules, equipment & procedures
· Excellent time keeping and attendance, positive attitude and ability to work independently or within a small team
Preferential;-
· Crane & FLT License
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings
Working Hours:
· Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00-22:00
Overtime is available, paid at 1hr 45mins
