Are You Ready to Lead Something that Really Matters?
We are looking for an exceptional Registered Home Manager who is ready to make their mark — someone who leads with genuine passion, who sees a challenge as an opportunity, and who wants the autonomy to build something truly outstanding. If that is you, please read on.
About Elizabeth Homes and Koru Care UK Ltd
Elizabeth Homes is a warm, family-centred 30-bed residential and dementia care home in the market town of Howden, East Yorkshire. We are part of Koru Care UK Ltd, an independent care group that operates homes in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, with a combined portfolio of over 220 beds across residential, dementia, and nursing care. We are proud of the close-knit community we have built at Elizabeth Homes, and we are proud of the direction in which the home is heading.
We currently hold a CQC Requires Improvement rating following our transition to new ownership — but with a former CQC inspector advising on our active service improvement plan, reinspection imminent, and every confidence of returning to the Good rating we maintained for many years prior, the foundations are firmly in place.
Our occupancy is well-established and actively supported by strong referral partnerships across the local authority, NHS discharge pathways, and the wider community. A number of significant initiatives are already in active delivery — including structured skills enhancement programmes for our care team, investment in positive behaviour support training, Oliver McGowan training for all staff, and a dedicated dementia and challenging behaviour development programme.
The Opportunity
This is a genuine opportunity for a driven, experienced manager to lead a home with real potential. You will have the full support of hands-on, engaged directors who are actively invested in the home — no regional managers, no layers of corporate bureaucracy, just direct director access and a team that is ready to be led. You will inherit a committed workforce that cares deeply about the home and the people who live in it.
We have also demonstrated our belief in developing our people at the highest level: we have previously sponsored a senior member of our management team to complete a Level 7 Senior Leader qualification — and we bring that same commitment to investment and development to the right incoming manager.
