Full job description

Full Time Bartender / Front of house

The Argyle Arms is a small, independent pub that's big on quality, known for great beer, low & slow barbecue and genuinely friendly service. Voted Best Pub in East Sussex at the National Pub & Bar Awards 2025.

If you're friendly, reliable, enjoy working with people and take pride in delivering excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

Welcoming customers with a warm, friendly attitude
Pouring quality draught beer, perfecting our cocktails (training provided)
Taking food and drink orders
Table service and clearing tables
Maintaining excellent cleanliness and presentation throughout the pub
Cellar duties including changing kegs and gas (full training provided)
Working confidently as part of a team and independently on quieter shifts once fully trained

What We're Looking For

Previous pub or bar experience is essential
Friendly, confident and approachable
Reliable with a strong work ethic
Comfortable working in a busy environment
Able to work evenings and weekends
Happy to get stuck in to cleaning tasks
Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service

What We Offer

Starting pay of £13.00 per hour during probation, increasing to £13.50 per hour upon successful completion
30 hours per week (flexible)
Immediate start available

Opening Hours

Monday–Thursday: 3pm–Midnight
Friday & Saturday: 1pm–1am
