Help shape the future of bus travel in Brighton and Hove

We are seeking a motivated and organised Project Officer to join the Public Transport team and support the delivery of improvements to bus services across the city.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a mix of established and emerging priorities, helping to deliver projects that benefit residents, visitors and the environment.

About the role

As a Project Officer you will work within a busy team delivering public transport improvements and supporting sustainable travel.

You will:

Contribute to and run projects across a range of workstreams, from early planning through to implementation and review
Plan, coordinate and monitor project activity, ensuring progress is tracked and outcomes are achieved
Collect, manage and analyse data to monitor performance and to support reporting and decision making
Provide expert, well informed advice to decision makers and colleagues, taking into account the wider organisational and policy context
Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleauges, bus operators and external partners, building effective working relationships to support delivery
Undertake business as usual activities, responding flexibly to changing priorities and emerging work
Manage workload effectively and use initiative to move projects forward

About you

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload. You will be comfortable working with a range of people, using your initiative to support and lead on the delivery of projects from start to fnish.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
