Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Self Employed Dog Groomer to provide professional grooming services for clients' pets. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to build your own client base while delivering high-quality animal care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently within a self-employed capacity.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling of dogs according to client preferences and breed standards
- Assess each dog’s coat, skin condition, and overall health to determine appropriate grooming procedures
- Maintain a clean and hygienic grooming environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are sterilised and well-maintained
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding grooming needs and aftercare advice
- Manage appointment scheduling, invoicing, and client records efficiently
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger dogs onto grooming tables or into baths
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in dog grooming, with a strong understanding of different breeds and grooming techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their pets
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling larger dogs or equipment
- Self-motivated with organisational skills to manage your own schedule effectively
- A valid qualification in dog grooming or equivalent experience recognised within the industry
- Own tools, equipment, and workspace necessary to deliver professional grooming services

Must have own public liability insurance!
