Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and hospitality to develop their skills within a professional environment. The position involves working closely with senior chefs, supervising team members, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the food production process, ensuring timely delivery of quality meals
Supervise junior kitchen staff and coordinate tasks during shifts to maintain smooth operations
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen
Contribute to menu planning and suggest improvements based on culinary trends and customer feedback
Manage inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Serve food efficiently in a hospitality setting, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times
Collaborate with team members to uphold the organisation’s service quality and operational goals

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety protocols
Supervising experience or leadership qualities are highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of food safety standards and HACCP procedures
Ability to work effectively as part of a team under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail and presentation
Previous experience in food production, serving, or restaurant operations is advantageous

Pay: £15,000.00-£24,004.18 per year
