First of all; Who are we and why do we exist?
addmustard is an award-winning brand, marketing and technology agency for entrepreneurs.
We add the strategic and creative fire-power of an advertising agency, to the precision and incision of a digital marketing agency, to grow the value of our clients’ businesses.
We are a team of 35 brilliant brand, marketing and technology experts: a core in-house team based in the United Kingdom: Soho, London and Brighton, Sussex. Supported by a network of specialists from around the world.
How do we add value to our clients?
addmustard has worked with over 50 founders since 2013. We’ve created spectacular investment success stories and exits.
Our roots are the in-house marketing team of a VC-backed start-up that grew to £350m in four years.
We’re hired directly by investors to help grow the value of their investments.
We’ve:
- Increased the value of a telecoms to cybersecurity business from £240m to £795m
- Turned a £10.1m loss into a £4.3m operating profit for a luxury retailer
- Enabled a 27x exit multiple for an online travel business
- Added £19.5m of brand value through an integrated campaign for an estate agent
And who exactly are we looking for?
Our brand and culture are bold, precise, energetic and irreverent. You will need to be all four, too. And because our clients are entrepreneurial, you need to have or be keen to develop an understanding of the unique challenges of working with entrepreneurs and their businesses.
As Content Manager, you are responsible for the quality, effectiveness and commercial impact of everything we deliver across content - from strategy through to execution. You will ensure that content is not just creative, but drives measurable business outcomes, strengthens client relationships, and helps deliver growth within accounts.
You will lead with both strategic clarity and delivery precision - ensuring that every piece of work ladders up to client goals, and every initiative or campaign is executed to the highest possible standard.
You will:
- Translate complex business challenges into clear, high-impact content strategies
- Oversee the delivery of integrated content programmes across channels (SEO, social, PR, thought leadership, LLM optimisation and beyond)
- Ensure consistent quality, performance and commercial value across all outputs
- Be innovative and lateral in planning, organising and project managing your clients’ and your team’s work.
- Act as a partner to clients, identifying opportunities to deepen impact and grow accounts
- Inspire and intensify the content marketing team and their talents by being driven, performance and delivery focused, flexible and empathetic.
- Work as a team player and leader with addmustard’s technologists, brand strategists, performance marketeers and creatives to produce compelling, distinctive and joined-up solutions to client problems.
You will operate as a trusted content advisor to founders, investors and senior teams. You’ll want to live and breathe our clients’ businesses, their teams, their communications, campaigns, performance and their success. You’ll have the ability to empathise with the attitudes of the entrepreneurs we work with. You’ll love working hard to drive growth and value in their businesses.
Key responsibilities
- Win trusted content strategy advisor status for the clients you work with.
- Plan, organise, evaluate and drive the content team to over perform, always beating client expectations and creating outcomes and stories capable of winning awards.
- You will work out smarter, more efficient, more brilliant ways your team - and the wider addmustard talent - can work; you will join them up and ensure they are one team, delivering a ruthlessly efficient set of processes for getting the best work possible done. On time.
- Understand the detail of client performance, value creation and their forecasts, budgets and KPI’s and relate our content plans, work and outputs to those business value drivers.
- Develop deep relationships with the owners, founders, CEOs, CFOs, marketing and tech teams of our entrepreneurial clients.
- Lead prioritisation, planning and communication of work across content campaigns.
- Craft briefs, proposals, plans and client strategies which are all award worthy. Every content related idea, plan, image, word or number that we produce for a client must be the very best it can be and your judgment and standards need to be at that level.
Skills and experience
- Creative thinker, target driven and willing to get stuck in where needed.
- Experience working in an agency setting and managing content strategies, roadmaps, activities and deadlines.
- An understanding of the principles of SEO, AEO and ranking algorithms.
- A proven track record in setting, reporting and delivering against measurable objectives and KPIs.
- An extremely keen eye for detail.
- A talent for juggling multiple deadlines and tasks.
- A passion to produce beautiful things, whether that’s through writing, photography, video or something else.
- A positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to generate unique ideas and articulate them to the team and our clients.
- Naturally organised with a logical, calm approach to projects and challenges.
- Previous experience using Google Analytics and other SEO and AEO tools such as AWR, SEMRush and SearchMetrics is desirable, but not essential.
What’s in it for you?
Hard work. High standards. Ambition. Real impact.
You’ll be at the centre of work that drives genuine value in our clients’ businesses. Helping founders, investors and teams achieve outcomes that matter.
In return, you can expect:
- To lead content that directly drives growth, performance and business value
- To work across a diverse range of fascinating clients, each with unique problems to solve
- To work on complex, high-stakes briefs where quality of thinking and execution really counts
- To build deep relationships with founders and senior teams, becoming a trusted partner in their growth
- To lead and develop a high-performing content team, raising standards and delivering exceptional work
- To work alongside, and learn from, experts at the forefront of brand, marketing and technology
