Control Centre Technician - Be the Heartbeat of Rail Operations!
Location: Three Bridges Rail Operating Centre
Shift Pattern: 24/7 - No On-Call Duties
Salary: Starting from IMC3 (if already on a Network Rail Contract) - £54649 + Location Allowance Or Standard Maintenance Contract - £56,777 + Location Allowance

Do you want to help keep one of the busiest rail networks in the world running smoothly? We're looking for curious, committed, and technical minded individuals to join our Signalling & Telecoms (S&T) team . This is your chance to be part of something big-helping us move millions of passengers safely and efficiently every day.
The role is based at Three Bridges Rail Operating Centre [TBROC] in Crawley, West Sussex RH107AA.
You will be joining the S&T team responsible for the Signalling equipment on-site, which include Cisco Network switches, and the Signalling Interlocking equipment attached to it. Which is part of the systems that allow us to run over 25 trains an hour through the Core in London.
To prepare and support your integration to the role, where you will undertake various training courses ranging from a few days to weeks, some on site in Three Bridges and others away from Sussex. These will complement your current skills, and when ready you will carry out the role as Control Centre Technician.
The Control Centre Technician role is a 24/7 365 days a year. This role will require you to work solo, you will undertake your part in covering these hours, working various shifts set to our pattern . There is no requirement to perform any on call duties.
Note: There is no requirement to go trackside with this role.
The role is to primarily provide 1st line fault response, remote monitoring and technical assistance with 2nd and 3rd line fault investigations
Why This Role Matters
Our Control Centre Technicians are the guardians of the railway's digital nervous system. You'll monitor and manage the signalling equipment that keeps trains moving through the London Core-where we run over 25 trains an hour ! From Cisco network switches to signalling interlocking systems , you'll be the first line of defence when faults occur, ensuring quick responses and minimal disruption.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and respond to real-time alerts from remote condition monitoring systems.
- Provide first-line fault response and assist with deeper investigations.
- Work with engineers and managers to prioritise and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Take ownership of your shift-working solo but supported by a strong team network.

- Proven experience in planning, implementing, and maintaining safe systems of work, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

- In-depth knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques, alongside relevant standards and procedures.
