Fur & Forever creates pet memorial jewellery for people who want something beautiful, personal and lasting. We are looking for a careful, reliable and warm person to join our small Brighton studio and help with the hands-on making, finishing and fulfilment of our keepsake jewellery.
You will be trained in our in-house studio process, working with deeply sentimental materials such as pet fur, pet hair, ashes, whiskers, feathers and human inclusions. The work involves careful preparation, precise setting, resin work, UV curing, sanding, shaping, polishing and final presentation.
This is a detail-focused studio role where consistency, care and respect for the customer’s materials matter more than formal qualifications. Jewellery experience is welcome, but not required. We are much more interested in finding someone patient, practical, emotionally intelligent and keen to grow with a small creative business.
The mission
Help us produce beautiful, consistent and meaningful memorial jewellery while keeping the studio organised, orders moving and customers well looked after.
You will help us deliver:
- High-quality finished jewellery made with care and consistency.
- A smooth, organised production process from customer inclusions through to dispatch.
- Thoughtful customer support for people who are often grieving.
- Beautifully packed orders that feel personal, premium and reassuring.
What you will own
You will be trained to support the production and fulfilment process day-to-day, including:
- Inclusion preparation: carefully handling pet fur, pet hair, ashes, whiskers, feathers and other tiny sentimental materials.
- Resin setting: placing inclusions into jewellery pieces using our resin and UV curing process.
- Finishing: sanding, shaping and polishing pieces so they are neat, smooth and ready to send.
- Order organisation: helping match customer inclusions to the correct orders, keeping notes clear and making sure pieces move through the studio properly.
- Packaging: preparing sending kits, packing finished orders beautifully and helping maintain our eco-conscious packaging standards.
- Customer support: replying to simple customer service enquiries, sending updates and escalating sensitive or complex queries where needed.
- Studio support: keeping the workspace tidy, preparing materials, checking stock and helping with general tasks across the business.
What you will also get exposure to
As you learn the business, there is scope to get involved in other parts of Fur & Forever, including:
- Product photography and content creation.
- Social media support.
- New product development.
- Website and order admin.
- Partnerships with vets, groomers and pet businesses.
- This is primarily a production and studio support role, but because we are a small business, the right person will get close exposure to how the whole brand works.
Who we are looking for
This role will suit you if you are:
- Careful and detail-focused: you are good with small, delicate tasks and take pride in getting things right.
- Patient and consistent: some of the work is repetitive, so you need to be comfortable following a process carefully.
- Warm and emotionally intelligent: our customers are often grieving, so tone, care and judgement matter.
- Practical and hands-on: you enjoy making, organising, packing and getting stuck into real tasks.
- Reliable and organised: you turn up on time, keep notes clear and can be trusted with sentimental customer materials.
- Comfortable learning by doing: you do not need formal qualifications, but you do need to listen, practise and improve.
- Interested in growing with a small business: this would suit someone who wants real responsibility, not just a basic part-time job.
What success looks like in the early months
- You understand and follow our production process confidently.
- Finished pieces are neat, consistent and made with care.
- Customer inclusions are handled respectfully and kept organised.
- Orders are packed beautifully and dispatched accurately.
- Simple customer enquiries are answered clearly and sensitively.
- The studio feels more organised, productive and supported because you are there.
Non-negotiables, please read
- You must be comfortable respectfully handling deeply sentimental customer materials, including pet fur, pet ashes, human hair and cremation ashes. Full training will be provided.
- You must be comfortable around dogs. We have an office Golden Retriever.
- You must be able to work in person from our Brighton studio.
- You must be comfortable doing careful, detailed, hands-on work, including resin work, UV curing, sanding, polishing and order packing.
Hours and details
Part-time: typically 16 to 24 hours per week, across 3 to 5 weekdays. Exact pattern agreed with the right person.
Benefits: Workplace pension, subject to auto-enrolment rules.
There may be scope for more hours as the business grows.
Working environment and location
Friendly, family-run and hardworking, with a supportive small-studio feel.
Based on Ditchling Road, Brighton, BN1, opposite green space, with on-site parking and a friendly office Golden Retriever.
This is an in-person role because the work is hands-on and studio-based. Some flexibility around working pattern may be possible once trained.
Probation
This role includes a 3-month probation period with clear training, support and expectations.
The role becomes ongoing subject to a successful probation review.
Progression
This role has a clear growth path for the right person.
As you become confident in production and studio operations, there is scope to take on more responsibility across customer care, order management, product finishing, content, stock control and wider business support.
We are a young business, so the right person will have the opportunity to grow with us as the brand grows.
