Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Motor Mechanic to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, providing a valuable foundation for a career in automotive engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced technicians, gaining practical skills in diagnosing and fixing various vehicle issues. A keen interest in mechanical systems and a willingness to learn are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Assist with the inspection and diagnosis of vehicle faults using schematics and technical manuals
Support the disassembly and assembly of engine components and other mechanical parts
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre replacements
Contribute to equipment repair and troubleshooting activities to ensure optimal vehicle performance
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety standards
Support senior mechanics with heavy lifting tasks and the movement of heavy parts or equipment
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about repair work when required

Experience

No prior experience necessary; however, familiarity with schematics, mechanical knowledge, and basic use of hand tools is advantageous
A strong interest in automotive systems and mechanical maintenance is essential
Previous experience with assembly, power tools, equipment repair, welding, or general maintenance will be considered a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently is required
Willingness to learn new skills through on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced technicians

Pay: From £320.00 per week
