Full job description

Cygnets is a fine art school franchise for children, based in the UK. We teach traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects, experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. Classes are run for ages 5-12 after school and weekends during term time, as well as every half term and school holiday.

The successful candidate will teach our classes within schools (within Burgess Hill & Haywards Heath Area) and cover teach our venue classes (both term time and holiday) at our Haywards Heath & Lindfield venues, for groups of up to 16 students.

Teachers are provided with all materials and a curriculum, including a step-by-step video for how to teach each project. This role would suit a creative individual with a passion for teaching, who's looking for well-paid work in the artistic industry, but with the flexibility of minimal hours that can fit around other commitments.

Hours

Term-Time:

Monday - 3:15pm-4:15pm - Haywards Heath

Wednesday - 3:30pm-4:30pm - Burgess Hill

Potential additional hours and income from private tuition/parties, pending interest.

Key Responsibilities

Teach small group art classes to children using a step-by-step approach.
Deliver lessons using Cygnets’ established curriculum
Encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Set up and tidy the classroom before and after sessions.

Requirements

A passion for working with children.
Strong core artistic skills in a variety of mediums.
Excellent reliability, timekeeping and organisation.
Friendly, patient, and confident manner.
Teaching experience. (Preferred)
A qualification in Art. (Preferred)
