Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented MET / PANEL Technician to join our bodyshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient removal, refitting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on damaged vehicles to support high-quality accident repair processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dismantle and reassemble accident-damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose faults in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Carry out repairs and replacements to mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
- Work closely with panel beaters and paint technicians to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales and deadlines.
- Accurately record all work carried out and parts used.
- Maintain tools and equipment to a high standard.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an MET Technician in a bodyshop or accident repair environment.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent).
- Good understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Full UK driving licence.
Preferred Skills:
- ATA or IMI Accreditation (desirable but not essential).
- Experience with diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of hybrid/electric vehicle systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to £60,000.00 per year
