Full job description

We are looking for an attentive, confident and reliable Night Porter/Receptionist to join our fantastic team at our lovely 31 bedroom hotel located right next to Brighton Seafront. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety, security and comfort of our guests and the hotel during night hours.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Working hours:
9:00pm – 9:00am, approximately 36–42 hours per week

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Carrying out regular walk arounds throughout the night, with particular attention to security, noise levels, and fire safety
Handling guest issues and resolving any problems in a courteous and professional manner
Responding to guest enquiries and providing assistance as required
Performing reception duties, including answering the main hotel phone line, taking bookings, checking in late arrivals, and processing early check-outs
Being familiar with fire alarm systems and following correct procedures in the event of an alarm
Managing emergencies or any unexpected situations that may arise overnight
Monitoring CCTV systems
Being on call for guests throughout the night (emergency telephone provided)
Completing a detailed handover for the morning shift
Supporting the housekeeping team when required including assisting with linen bags

Please note that a degree of flexibility is required for this role. A contract will be issued with holiday pay and access to a pension scheme.
