Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, tooling, and precision machining techniques. The ideal applicant will have experience with Phillips software, and possess a solid foundation in mechanical knowledge and hand tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment focused on manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC turning machines, ensuring precise production according to specifications
Programme machines using Phillips software, with particular emphasis on SolidWorks and related tools
Adjust machine parameters to optimise efficiency and quality during production runs
Conduct routine inspections of machined parts to ensure adherence to quality standards
Perform milling, and other supplementary machining tasks as required
Maintain and calibrate tooling, ensuring sharpness and accuracy for each job
Use hand tools and power tools for minor repairs or adjustments to equipment or components
Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Document production activities accurately in accordance with company procedures
Proven experience in setting and operating CNC turning machines in a manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for machine setup and maintenance
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks
Understanding of safety standards within a manufacturing setting
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
