Software Development Engineer (SDE)
Full Time/Permanent
Hybrid - occasional travel to our Bristol office
The SDE’s role is to work within in a development team to design, build and maintain bespoke software applications for the Bupa Dental UK business.
The SDE will work within an Agile process to shape solutions that help the business achieve their targets and improve workflows and processes throughout Bupa Dental UK.
Key responsibilities will include:
The SDE will have:
- in-depth understanding of development best practices
- mastered the tools needed to debug and diagnose issues in any type of environment
- the ability to understand the scope and relationships of large features and production stack for their area
- subject matter expertise in at least one component
- have a good understanding of all components of their product
The SDE will be able to:
- perform complex programming tasks
- participate in code reviews
- sign off on small features
- write and execute test plans
- write functional specifications for small features
- given a medium to large understood problem, the SDE can design and implement a solution
The SDE will:
- show initiative and offers assistance when needed
- deliver feedback in a constructive manner
- Provides guidance to entry-level engineers
- works well with technical leads, incorporating feedback as needed
- helps focus discussion on important aspects
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- C# .NET
- .NET Web API
- Blazor
- Git
- Unit Testing
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- T-SQL
Desirable:
- ReactJS
- TDD
- Teamwork oriented working ways: pair programming, mob programming
- Entity Framework
- Dapper or other ORMs
- CI/CD with Azure DevOps
- Microsoft Azure
