Key Responsibilities INCLUDES WEEKENDS
- Support and help to organise and deliver a vibrant calendar of activities that reflect residents’ interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds in a large Nursing Home based in Shirehampton, next to the Portway and Junction 18 M5.
- Promote choice, independence, and dignity in every interaction with residents.
- Support residents in participating meaningfully in group and one-on-one activities.
- Work closely with care staff, families, and external entertainers to enhance wellbeing and engagement.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment that reflects our core values: fun, integrity, responsiveness, success, and teamwork.
- Gather feedback from residents and families to help improve future activity offerings.
What You’ll Bring
- Working four days Monday to Friday, between 9am to 4.30pm, we ideally are looking for someone experienced in a similar role within elderly care, hospitality, or community services.
- Strong organisational skills and a creative approach to planning engaging activities.
- A warm, empathetic nature and a genuine passion for enriching the lives of older adults.
- Confidence in facilitating inclusive, stimulating sessions that cater to diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive mindset and a commitment to putting people first.
Qualifications Required
- Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or assisted living environment.
- Understanding of dementia care principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with residents, families, and staff members effectively.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for elderly residents.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care is desirable.
