Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Apprentice Carpenter to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction work. The successful candidate will assist skilled tradespeople in a range of tasks, gaining practical knowledge in building and renovation projects. This paid apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to develop essential skills in the construction industry while contributing to diverse projects, including roofing, joinery, and masonry.
Responsibilities
- Carry out tasks as instructed by your Supervisor or Line Manager.
- Learn about, and adhere to, Company procedures, policies, and standards.
- Conduct yourself politely, professionally, and responsibly at all times.
- Comply with all legal requirements and Company directives, including dress code and health and safety procedures.
- Support day-to-day operations by assisting team members with routine tasks to gain practical experience.
- Observe and learn by shadowing experienced employees to understand best practice and workflow.
- Maintain accurate records, notes, logs, or reports as required by the Company or training provider.
- Participate fully in training, including workshops, on-site instruction, and online learning relevant to the apprenticeship.
- Assist with team projects and practical activities under appropriate supervision.
- Ask questions and seek feedback to support continuous learning and development.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
- Interact with customers, where applicable, in a courteous and professional manner under supervision.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of carpentry principles and construction techniques is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is crucial
- Experience or familiarity with fabrication, assembly, and use of hand tools or power tools is advantageous
- Physical fitness to undertake heavy lifting and manual tasks throughout the working day
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy construction environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- A proactive attitude with a strong interest in developing a career within the construction industry

Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
