Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. This role involves accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting the pharmacy's daily operations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures and a commitment to ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred, along with a passion for delivering compassionate healthcare services.

Responsibilities

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders for patients
Provide guidance to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and update patient files accordingly
Support inventory management by stock checking, ordering supplies, and ensuring medication safety standards are upheld
Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations related to medication handling and storage
Offer compassionate patient care by answering queries and providing support during pharmacy visits
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Skills

NVQ2 dispensing qualification or equivalent
Proven experience as a pharmacy dispenser
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent dispensing errors
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy
Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on confidentiality and professionalism
Familiarity with legal requirements related to medication handling and pharmacy operations
